"Just everyday guys and gals filled with contagious enthusiasm and passion who prove that anybody can make a change, anybody can help out and contribute to the local society"
Good Morning Folks,
I am happy to present yet another TED talk suggested by an employee.
On today's (summer) TED Talk: Teacher Stephen Ritz shows his students how to grow edible gardens. The result? Healthy food, job prospects and a transformed neighborhood.
A whirlwind of energy and ideas, Stephen Ritz is a teacher in New York's tough South Bronx, where he and his kids grow lush gardens for food, greenery -- and jobs. Just try to keep up with this New York treasure as he spins through the many, many ways there are to grow hope in a neighborhood many have written off, or in your own.
There should be banners put up in various places all over the world that would have a link to this talk written on them, preceded by a short line that would go like "Lost your faith in humanity? Watch this:"
People like you and Mr. Roy Finley are what I think kids (and not only) need these days - just everyday guys and gals filled with contagious enthusiasm and passion who prove that anybody can make a change, anybody can help out and contribute to the local society without a huge campaign, massive external funding, media-based fuzz and all those things that people think are necessary in order to get your ideas through to the public.
His talk shows that any idea-driven individual with passion in their heart, a skip in the step and fire in the belly can defy all odds, and go out and reshape their neighborhood or a district or even a street when it becomes obvious that the higher-ups have failed to do that for them.
You can be proud of yourself, Mr. Ritz - keep up the good work. And let's all keep striving towards healthier foods and a happier you.
Have a GREAT Day!
