Spring Into A New Career; We're Hiring at FSO

"Exceptional service is not found solely in the monumental—the oversized errands or the last-minute changes. It is achieved through every moment of kindness, care, and sincerity that we share with our clients."

Good Morning Folks,

Welcome to spring and a great time to clean out the old and blossom the new,

What another AWESOME week ahead at FSO! Here are some of the things we have in store:
  • Kim, Chelsea, and I will host a Fireside chat with a select group tonight
  • We have our monthly "Leadership Strategies" management meeting Tuesday
  • Our SLT Breakfast/Lunch/snacks continues
I am especially excited about our Fireside Chats which affords a rare opportunity for a diverse group of employees to meet directly with ownership and top executives to discuss what's on THEIR minds, as well as brainstorm how we can become more profitable and productive. How we can improve teamwork and add an even more personal touch to how we do business. Watching as we bounce ideas left & right in these chats ignites a fire in not only me but in other employees as well.

Then tomorrow our management team comes together their monthly Leadership Strategies meeting, part of a major initiative to develop and nurture all levels of company management into stronger leaders. The Leadership Strategies program is a groundbreaking concept in the outsourcing industry. We simply aim to make managers stronger leaders, for if they are not how can we continue to exceed our customer’s expectations?

As you often hear, there is nothing more important than having GREAT people in our company and we are ALWAYS looking to add talent to our team. In addition to the positions that we are always sourcing for, we have the following approved needs:

New York
·          Facilities
·          Security Officer

San Jose, CA
·          Lab Associate

Philadelphia, PA
·          Office Service Associate

Chicago, IL
·          Floater
·          Hospitality Representative

Concord, CA
·          Office Service Associate

New Jersey
·          Mailroom Associate

I promise everyone a career at our company, not just a job. That's why I am excited that our next Future Leaders Program congratulatory letters are going out this week. Congratulations to everyone who has been accepted into our Future Leader's Program program, and great job in continuing to OWN your career

It takes courage and commitment to learning new things to inspire others, which prevents stagnant job performance and careers. I am excited to see our programs will unlock the full potential we know our managers already have.

At FSO, industry leading training, incentives, rewards, recognition and a TRUE career path sit at the heart of a successful company culture. To learn how an FSO partnership can unlock your own firm’s growth potential, contact Mitch Weiner at (212) 204-1193 or CLICK HERE to email Mitch, directly.

Keep SPOTTING TALENT and keep sending us your referrals to psteam@fso-outsourcing.com.

Have a GREAT Monday and a wonderful week!

Love Life!

"I am seeking your recommendations of highly motivated people who are looking for a new opportunity and bright future in the field o Human Resources.. ASAP

Good Morning Folks

Remember it is always President's Day at FSO where future leaders have a real path to aspire for higher ground.

And we have GREAT openings for those looking for a fun, passionate job

Nothing is more important than having great people who care about the service they provide to our customers. If this sounds incredible and impressive to the forgotten hourly employees stuck in dead-end jobs elsewhere, and the kind of career path and commitment you would like to be assured in return for your investment working hard every day, please send your resume for the opening below ton  to Kshepherd (at) fso-outsourcing.com.

Meanwhile prepare for one of your interview questions by being able to answer "What is President's Day?" The Christian Science Monitor does it well:

Now back to what is When is Presidents Day 2014?
"The correct answer to that question is “never.” When it comes to federal holidays, there is no such thing as Presidents Day. We’ve been saying this for years, but shockingly, the charade continues.

“Though other institutions such as state and local governments and private businesses may use other names, it is our policy to always refer to holidays by the names designated in the law,” OPM states.
Long story short: Washington’s Birthday has been a US holiday since 1886. In the late 1960s,

Congress scrambled around a bunch of federal holidays to make three-day weekends, and Washington’s Birthday got thrown into that mix. The Illinois congressional delegation thought it would be a great idea to honor Abe Lincoln by expanding the name to Presidents Day. But Virginia lawmakers blocked the move to protect the prerogatives of The Father of Our Country. That’s where things still stand today.

As we noted, we’ve written more fully about all this in the past, so we’re not going to dwell on that at this time. Instead, we’ll float theories as to why the myth of Presidents Day continues.

States’ rights. As OPM notes, states can do what they wish, and some do call it Presidents Day. (Many also follow the federal lead and don’t.) Perhaps they want to stretch the day to get a little recognition for their own native sons. New York’s Martin Van Buren, come on down!

Corporate conspiracy. Maybe advertisers believe that consumers are more likely to get out and spend on a holiday called Presidents Day, so that’s what they call it on all their fliers. For all his virtues, George Washington seems formal and chilly: Would he approve of you buying that mattress? Even if it’s on sale
?
Richard Nixon. There’s an urban legend that Richard Nixon started Presidents Day in the early 1970s. He issued a holiday proclamation turning Washington’s Birthday into a more inclusive event honoring all US chief executives, including him, according to this rumor.

That’s not true: His proclamation clearly referred to Washington’s Birthday. The debunking site Snopes.com has the full story. But what if Nixon started that rumor himself? He might have planted it knowing full well it would get repeated in the years ahead and he might get some Presidents Day recognition after all.

Yes, that’s kind of a back flip, but Nixon was a shrewd guy. And look at his own presidential library: This year it’s having a celebration of Presidents Day, not Washington’s Birthday, complete with actors playing Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Lincoln, and Teddy Roosevelt.

Not that we’re complaining. We’d go if we could: First 100 guests get a free slice of cherry pie."

I am personally committed to (re)IMAGING our FLP to enhance the FSO Employee Experience.

I’m only one person and know I can’t do it alone. I need your knowledge, expertise and experience.

We are family & it’s all about TEAM WORK!

Have a GREAT Day. Love Life.

I'll be a seeing you soon.

=> InspireME Friday: Fire >> Passion >>Skip

Via Red Bull
"Leadership (aka. >>Fire >> Passion >>Skip) is scarce because few people are willing to go through the discomfort required to lead."

Good Morning Folks,

What a week it's been! The FSO House was rocking all day, every day with >>Fire >> Passion >>Skip, and this excitement and buzz will go a long way in the market!! Our talent levels are literally increasing overnight.

We saw well over 200 candidates during our job fair and open house. The excitement and buzz in the office again was felt by the candidates and the majority of them commented about what a GREAT vibe they felt from the second they walked off the elevator. Ahhhh, hospitality – that is what we are all about!!

A big shout out to EVERYONE who made the 2 days so special. A real true team event…coming in early and staying late. You are all awesome and I truly appreciate your support!!

I also want to thank those customers, employees and Mitch Weiner social media followers that have supported my "casting" calls for referrals of Sales and HR talent.

Mostly because people like yourselves talked about, spread the word about and delivered top-shelf candidates that will help FSO *light up a nation* with talent levels unlike anywhere else on the planet. Together with our existing team, we are truly The Happiest Place to Work on Earth.

We are also a family— a tribe. A tribe is any group of people, large or small, who are connected to one another, a leader, and an idea.

That in mind, to send you off to your weekends on a high note, here's a favorite excerpt from Seth Godin's book "Tribes" (one of the bestselling leadership book on Amazon)

Leadership (aka. >>Fire >> Passion >>Skip) is scarce because few people are willing to go through the discomfort required to lead.

The scarcity makes leadership valuable. If everyone tries to lead all the time, not much happens. It’s discomfort that creates the leverage that makes leadership worthwhile.

In other words, if everyone could do it, they would, and it wouldn’t be worth much.

==> It’s uncomfortable to stand up in front of strangers.
==> It’s uncomfortable to propose an idea that might fail.
==> It’s uncomfortable to challenge the status quo.
==> It’s uncomfortable to resist the urge to settle.

When you identify the discomfort, you’ve found the place where a leader is needed.

If you’re not uncomfortable in your work as a leader, it’s almost certain you’re not reaching your potential as a leader.

Thanks again to everyone who put the word out and brought in referrals. Don’t be shy and keep those referrals coming. Positions are still open. The more the merrier!

From our wonderful FSO Family have a GREAT weekend, be happy and… Love Life!

LinkUP Thursday: Love. Life. Happiness.

Good Morning Folks,

This week I've found some great articles to share about spirit, passion, attitude, 'pep in the step'; as you know, all my favorite topics.

We start with a video by the Chief of all Chief Happiness Officers, Sir Richard Branson on how he picks people for his team and what you should do to find the right people for yours. It's very much like our process at FSO. Below Richard's brief video, are links to this week's articles.

I hope you get as much from them as I did.

Have a GREAT day as I look forward to seeing all of you soon.

Guest Post: What’s the Best Way to Attract Talent in 2013? via Recruiter.com

businessman sitting at desk holding help wanted signThis is the question that all employers should ask themselves at the beginning of each year. Why? Because we are seeing massive changes in the way that candidates look for jobs in terms of mobile and social media adoption, and we are seeing changes in the make-up of the candidate marketplace as Baby boomers begin retiring and more and more Millennials start entering the workforce. And it seems not a month goes by without some disruptive little start-up deciding to shake up the sourcing marketplace with some exciting new sourcing tool that we simply can’t wait to get our hands on.
Amidst this excitement and chaos of experimentation with disruptive sourcing technologies, it can be easy to take your eye off the ball and lose sight of the important question, which are, “Among all these sourcing options, which is proving the best way to attract talent? Has it changed since last year, meaning I may need to adapt my talent attraction strategy to stay competitive?
To help us answer these questions, each year since 2005, CareerXRoads has produced its Annual Source of Hire Study, which outlines the most influential forms of hire over the past year. Some of the results are discussed below:
Some of the main takeaways from the research for talent acquisition professionals and recruiters:
1. Word of mouth is still the best way to hire
Employee Referrals and word of mouth still lead the way as the most influential source of hire with24.5 percent of roles being filled this way. Referrals have led the way in being the most effective source of hire since 2005. This means that if you haven’t done so already, there’s compelling evidence to suggest that you should begin incorporating hiring via word-of-mouth into your resourcing strategy. This is straightforward in its implementation, simply requiring the establishment of an effective employee referral scheme with some great incentives, which motivates your employees to spread the word about vacancies in your firm and make qualified referrals to your business. These schemes have become much easier to administer thanks to the arrival of a whole army of employee referrals apps, such as Jobvite, GooodJob, BullHorn Reach and Meshhire, which leverage the power of social networks.
2. Corporate career sites bounced back with a vengeance
Last year’s figures may have caused some of us to speculate that career sites are dead. The influence of corporate careers site on hiring slumped to an all-time low, accounting for just 9.8 percent of hires, nearly 8 percent below the 7-year-average. But, this year, corporate careers site have bounced back with a vengeance, accounting for 23.4 percent of hires. So, did you let your career site go to rack and ruin last year? If you did, it might be time to give your career site an SEO, social media integration and employer branding overhaul to fully leverage your career site as a recruitment medium.
3. Jobs boards are alive and kicking
With the arrival of social media, there have been some suggestions that jobs boards might be dead. However, even though the influence of jobs boards as a source of hire has been declining since 2010, (24.9%, 20.1%, 18.1%), with 18.1 percent of roles being filled via job boards, it is still the third most influential form of hire and still way above the 8-year-average of 15.65 percent. Clearly, it’s too early to be giving up on jobs boards, with Indeed and SimplyHired accounting for 35 percent of all job board hires. But, with this latest downward trend on job board influence, it would be a high risk sourcing strategy to be solely dependent on job boards as a means of attracting talent. It should be combined with some of the other channels mentioned above.
4. Social media hiring is not dead
And finally, just a quick mention for social media, which seems to have a strange lack of influence on hiring, apparently accounting for just 2.9 percent of hires. This is a classification issue. Social media hiring is thought to drive, combine and influence 7 out of the 11 sources of hire in this survey, but its influence is not easily measured. And, if CareerXRoads could get a measure on the exact influence of social media it might be credited with a much higher impact on sources of hire. So, despite the paltry hiring influence figures, social media is not dead; its influence is just not easily measurable and you should, of course, continue full steam ahead with your social hiring efforts in 2013!

New Hires and Promotions At Fast-Growing FSO, Fortify the Onsite Outsouring Industry's Most Passionate and Productive Team

"I personally could not be more committed to finding
good people and making them great."

Good Morning Folks,

As the owner of FSO, I personally could not be more committed to finding good people and making them great.

To support our growing infrastructure, we continue to make substantial investments in our People Solutions (HR) Department with the addition of Harvey Hirsh as People Solutions Manager. Working directly for Stacey Mainiero (VP, People Solutions), Harvey will be responsible for all HR related items (excluding recruiting) for FSO. This includes benefits, HR compliance, best practices, policies and procedures. With over 20 years of HR experience within multiple different industries, Harvey is the recipient of multiple awards for turning around departments and improving customer service.

Also joining the People Solutions team is FSO’s own Shalaine Adams. No stranger to the onsite outsourcing industry, Shalaine has worked herself up in FSO from Informationalist to Site Manager. Shalaine truly understands the importance of excellent customer service, and as a result has been promoted to FSO’s Corporate Trainer. As part of the People Solutions team, Shalaine will draw on her own experience, tenure and passion for teaching others to assist in executing the FSO commitment to enhance employee training and development.

Additionally, to support the needs of FSO’s growing number of employees, Chelsea Weiner has joined the company as a People Solutions Specialist. With a BS in Educational Studies from Roger Williams University, Chelsea will work alongside Stacey in the field to support FSO's Mail & Logistics Associates, Facilities Managers, Records Associates, Copy Operators and Informationalists. Additionally, Chelsea will be involved in all trainings and any HR relates issues.

FSO continues on a path to greatness, attracting our competition's most tenured leaders with the addition of David Christian to the FSO Family. Dave, who joins FSO as Regional Director of Operations, has a rich history in the outsourcing business and with me personally – dating back over 20 years. Over his illustrious career, Dave has progressed through a variety of ever advancing positions – from Site Manager to Operations Manager to Director of Operations for the Mid-Atlantic region overseeing 70+ sites and 400+ full time employees. Like so many others, Dave has “come home” and FSO is thrilled to have him onboard.

Also joining the Operations team is Aida Hibbert as Experience Director. I spotted Aida at a recent corporate event delivering Service Extraordinaire - with a smile no less - to our large group. Drawing on her extensive background in events, hospitality and people management, I am certain Aida will be a tremendous asset to our FSO family.”

As FSO continues to win new business across the country, we have an eye open for finding great talent who have that skip in their step, fire in their belly, and twinkle in their eye to fill dozens of new positions are being added daily. Interested? Let us know.

Our goal remains nothing short of greatness and perfection in the way we deliver services, and the way they we care of their people.

Have a GREAT Day,

Mitchell D. Weiner
