How unfortunate to personally be stagnant in our careers, unable to take full advantage of an opportunity or even let one "slip" by due to unpreparedness. 

We provide so much to our field employees. We guide, mentor, teach, support them. We show them they are important, show them they matter, show them we care. We build relationships with them, friendships, comraderie. They are the future...us - and it is our obligation and pleasure to assist them reach their goals, progress, fulfill their dreams.

Most importantly - it is all of our jobs as leaders and managers to ensure that in our absence or promotion others can take the reins over and shine in doing so. 

To our employees, ask yourself - who at your site or department are you partnering with and developing? Who can you count on? Are names immediately popping up in your head?

Then there is the rising star that was personally discovered by me a few years ago that I wish to give a special shout out and thanks to - Vivian! In Denise's absence, she rose above and beyond all expectations and shone in her capacity, commitment and smarts. She Denise to come back with a sigh of relief and joy. 

Vivian started with FSO as an informationalist a few years ago and has continued to rise and put her intellect and personality to invaluable use. Additionally Vivian is also working closely with me on "employee analytics" and keeping a close ear to the heartbeat of our valued staff across the country. 

Again this important role was borne out of care, concern and a passion to ensure that our staff are feeling and experiencing my brand, company culture and commitment to our staff's happiness and career growth. Thank you Viv for all that you do!

Friday on MitchWeiner.com is the day when I share with the world one of the inspirational employee emails that is normally restricted for internal consumption.

Recently I announced the promotion of Shalaine Adams to the newly created position of Regional Manager, Delivering the Experience. In Shalaine’s new role, which relocated her from our headquarters in New York City to the Central Region, she is already working with all of our teams rolling out our brand Nationwide. Shalaine will lead and assist in training, her largest percent of time, specifically around the CLIENT and EMPLOYEE experience. 

Upon her promotion Shalaine put some thoughts on paper for her colleagues. I have selected her email as the employee communication of the week to share with you today. This is from her heart and exemplifies the exceptional people onboard FSO, the passion they have and their commitment to our client's success. Here's Shalaine:
Hello & Good morning FSO, USA!! J What an awesome week it’s been!!! We’ve spoken a lot about Feeling The Experience, it’s something we want all of our clients to feel but, did you know this goes for YOU as well, because when you are feeling the experience you can then be inspired share it with others! 
Your experience with FSO is important because you are Mitch’s heart! You see, life is made up of many experiences, all of which are there to help you grow & learn. Each experience helps shape you into the person you are meant to become! 
I would like to take you on a journey with me, back to when I was a receptionist with the competitor. My experience was not a great one, my opinions didn’t matter, I didn’t have any opportunity to grow, I was stuck at a dead end job with nowhere to go. I knew there had to be something more out there for me, a place where I can grow and have an actual career. Fast forward to three years ago, joining the FSO family, believing in Mitch’s promise to have a shot at a career not just a job and now I am seeing my dreams come to fruition how exciting is that!! 
The sky is the limit for you here at FSO; working hard never goes for naught.   I have had an awesome experience here at FSO, the Care, Love and Respect that Mitch has for US is like no other and it is such a blessing to feel that love & support everyday! 
As I embark on my new journey as Regional Manager, Delivering the Experience; I am preparing to leave NY and will be heading to the Mid-West. I realize that I am truly not alone, I take all of my fond memories and experiences with me. From being a part of the amazing PS team, all of the support & love of my good friends at HQ, working with my sister Chelsea, creating Experience Greatness and meeting and training the best employees in the industry! I FEEL the difference and the true meaning of being a part something much bigger than myself! Words cannot express how excited I am, knowing that I will be touching the lives of our wonderful employees is something I take much pride in. You see, for me; it is Personal, making each moment & interaction count. Inspiring, motivating & empowering the field one employee at a time is an honor and I am so grateful to have this opportunity. 
I am so excited and I look forward to lighting up the FSO nation. Looking forward to seeing many of you very soon!
Ok, I must admit .. I teared up reading Shalaine's email. What a beautiful message. All I had to do is give her a chance to fly and she did. Shalaine’s promotion is just one example of how FSO is changing the onsite outsourcing world and changing our employee's worlds! 

We will miss Shalaine's positive influence in New York. But our company is national and she can help us be the best we can be at all times in all places. I am so proud and excited for her as she will bring to the field tremendous love, care, heart and ideas with deep experience to make our business grow and support all of our clients and employees in FULLFILLING DREAMS and AMBITIONS.

I shared an AWESOME quote my LinkedIn page this week: "Characterize people by their actions and you will never be fooled by their words." I thought this is just perfect for what we stand for at FSO. Respect, Integrity, Transparency, and Trust – The FSO Difference.

The single most  important thing about our culture is, it never wears off.  It doesn’t go away. It’s there every day, and it has a huge impact on everything that matters to every business we serve. 

We have the best people in the industry from our mail rooms, front of house, office services, Experience Directors, Regional Directors, Future Leaders and everyone in HQ, to our Executive Leadership Team, marketing, finance, operations, sales and people solutions. Eddie Pons: "I Am That Boy"


There is no better example of someone who took opportunity to heart and made the most of it in the form of a fulfilling and lucrative career working his way all the way up to FSO Division Director as Eddie Pons. To send you off to the weekend with a BIG SMILE, here is today's inspirational message from Eddie Pons. It's the kind of motivational messages people from all walks of our company contribute daily. Here's Eddie:
A brief story:
24 years ago, a young boy met a person that would change his life...forever. 
 
This boy worked for a small New York company providing customer service via a busy mail room. Snow, rain, extreme temperatures, he would trek "to and fro" retrieving and delivering mail and parcel for his company, always with a smile - always helpful. He learned and learned whatever would make the job better. He cared about everything he did, and could do - to help anyone. As much as he loved his job, it was just that, a "job" - however, something was about to change... 
Those so many years ago, this boy met... a Visionary. A Pioneer. A force that would change... everything! This Visionary would create a career from that "job", the boy loved so. 
Both the boy and the visionary shared the same passion. They both believed in taking care of people, finding the best in them and helping wherever possible. The meeting of the two was destiny. The feeling of finding someone that shared the same philosophies, focus, passion could only be described as a mutual love. Love of people. 
Unbeknownst to him at the time, the boy had met someone that would impact his life, the life of his family and the lives of all that would be so blessed as to share and experience in his vision. That feeling of comfort, of satisfaction, of simply being blown away is something that is not felt everyday and is to be treasured. We all want that feeling, deserve that feeling and would want to spread that feeling to as many people possible. 
That boy with a job, grew to be a man with an amazing career and great success. 
That visionary with a dream, is growing the most dominant company in our industry. 
I - am that boy. 
Mitch - is that visionary. 
And that love?... that love - is the FSO EXPERIENCE!

This is MAJOR: Promotions, Appointments and New Staff Restructure to Support Stunning and Rapid Expansion

Good Morning Folks, 

During our planning phase in 2010, my vision was to bring FSO to a national organization by 2015 – building regions and solidifying deals that are national in all verticals, especially in the legal marketplace. 

No business can sustain growth without investments in its infrastructure, people, systems, and training. This, coupled with remaining close to my staff and clients, has always been my benchmark for success. With that said, I’m very pleased to announce a major restructure that includes promotions, appointments and the addition of new staff. 

Joining our family as Vice-President, General Manager is Richard Boland. In this highly important role for FSO, Rich is poised to have an immediate impact on our staff, clients and results as they relate to profits and revenue stream. He will cover the entire Mid-Atlantic region and select accounts in NYC. Reporting in to him will be Dave Christian (Mid-Atlantic Regional Director), Angel Negron (Experience Director), and Neal Michael (Experience Director). Additionally, Rich will immediately take charge of the NY sales team, and hold responsibility for database and document management. As well, effective immediately, Rich will be a member of our Executive Leadership Team.

Prior to joining the FSO family, Rich held full P&L responsibility for Iron Mountain’s southern United States area, which included 13 states and 2,000 employees. Rich grew total revenues, increased profit contribution from the region, and closed more than 10 strategic acquisitions in new and existing markets. Before joining Iron Mountain, Rich led the Southeast Region of Pitney Bowes Management Services. Rich joined Pitney Bowes through the acquisition of Ameriscribe Management Services. At Ameriscribe, Rich served as Vice President of the Central Region and Canada.  He was also a member of the senior management transition team that created and integrated the new organization following the acquisition by Pitney Bowes.

To say that Rich is excited to join FSO is an understatement. In a recent exchange, Rich said something that I have not forgotten – great businesses are defined by great people, and the experience we’ve shown him thus far reinforces his confidence that there is a fantastic future on the horizon for all of us. I could not agree more! Rich, we are very excited to have you with us.

Also joining our family is John DeSena as Vice President & General Manager, North America. A true industry leader, John brings to FSO an intimate knowledge of our business. Dating back 25 years, John worked for me in building and growing the outsourcing business at Archer. Today, like so many others, John has “come home” to be a part of an organization where the emphasis is on the people. Something so many of our competitors have forgotten.

A seasoned general management executive, John most recently served as Vice President of Operations at Canon where he managed over 1,000 employees in five regions across the country. Notably, he achieved over 120 million in revenue across multiple services while remaining focused on delivering client solutions and satisfaction. Additionally, over his illustrious career, John has: led large customer implementations across multiple regions and service offerings; created operations infrastructure to support and exceed client expectations on a national level, while providing support to thousands of field employees; provided the oversight of digital document conversion; and been instrumental in integrating people, process, and technology for multiple top Fortune 50 companies. 

Headquartered in Los Angeles, John’s sole role for FSO will be to build us a national organization for operations, sales and people solutions while driving strategic and financial results. This will include, but not be limited to, hiring, training and managing teams throughout the United States. Effective immediately, John will also take a seat on our Executive Leadership Team.

Reporting in to John is Christine Rainey. Before I can say any more though, I’m thrilled to announce the promotion of Christine Rainey to Regional Director of the North East. When it comes to attention to detail and building robust teams that deliver Service Extraordinaire, there is no one more dedicated than Christine. She has taken a portfolio of business and sites in our New Jersey market and doubled it in just over a year. This type of success comes from Christine’s ability to maintain 100% client retention and amazing references from every client. With this type of success, it should come as no surprise that it is time to take Christine’s talent to greater heights. 

Also reporting in to John is Missy Adriazola (National Director of Hospitality and Training). In her expanded role, Missy will be supporting John to build our national structure for front of house and hospitality.

Another report in to John is a familiar name for many of you. With nine years of experience working in our company, I’m thrilled to announce that Lori Dacchille, who recently relocated to California, will be supporting John to build a robust People Solutions organization for us on the West Coast. Welcome back Lori! 

With all of that said, please join me in welcoming Rich; welcoming home John and Lori; and congratulating Christine! The talent within our organization is awesome, but what makes FSO so unique is the passion and love that we possess.
