-Mail pick-up, drop-off-Re-stocking the kitchen (coffee, milk, other supplies, cleaning counters, etc.)-Being available each and every time we have a food delivery, escorting the delivery person from the freight, helping with the setup, providing tables for the food in a conference room, and more-Stocking all paper for the copy rooms, as well as the shared printers on each floor-Delivering supplies of all kinds – everything from staples, paper clips, binders, and anything else we need-Responding to Fiery printer issues, calling the technician, escorting the technician upon arrival-Escorting any delivery such as cases of bottled water, ensuring proper set up/storage-Ordering supplies if we are out of something specific-Unpacking 30+ boxes at a time when deliveries come with items such as our Univision premiums that have to be properly stored-Helping with last-minute crisis, setups, supply issues, trouble shooting
On top of all of that, every person on your team has done an amazing job of dealing individually with us. I can’t tell you how grateful I am for Anthony because he stops by every day before 5pm to ensure that I am all set for the day, and asks me if I need anything else on his last round. I have always had great interaction with each of your team members. They are friendly, helpful, resourceful, and they always offer to help in any way they can.  

We have so many responsibilities, and I am so grateful for you and your team, how you have come alongside of us and helped us in so many ways – well beyond the list that I mentioned above. I truly do count on you all as an integral part of our Univision team.  And, I know that you are not just handling the 8th floor, you are handling all of Univision here at 605 Third Avenue. I’ve learned that an executive can spend thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours on assessments and studies, but that doesn’t cover the unique needs, desires and ambitions of every individual working for you. In the world of motivation and engagement, it’s important to remember that all business is an interaction between people.

On that note, my commitment to everyone is that as we grow together we always bring a personal touch to business. Our love fest for our employees and clients is the only way to properly grow our business, and I will continue to take care of the people who take care of our business.

Today we've heard from clients about the qualities and skillets that will define our future leaders. Each promotion from within starts with client recognition such as we've witnessed here today.

Ted Tuesday: A "Double" Feature— Paolo Cardini: Forget Multitasking, Try Monotasking

Do you ever feel overwhelmed by the level of technology that is available to you? Maybe, like me you feel like you are constantly multitasking and it just may not be the most efficient way to get what you need done.

People aren’t just cooking anymore -- they’re cooking, texting, talking on the phone, watching YouTube and uploading photos of the awesome meal they just made.

With over 1,602,736 views, Paolo Cardini's TedGlobal Talk, likes asking some important questions about the way we live, like: Does multitasking actually help us become more efficient? How far will social networking go? Who are the players in the myriad conflicts in the Arab world? What is the next frontier in product development? -- and trying to answer them with playful designs, like his I Like Sit chaise lounge, which updates your Facebook status depending on your position, and MiddleField, a foosball table depicting different players in the Middle East.

For TEDGlobal 2012 Cardini created a unique product called the MONOtask project. To help you deal with your overly multitasked life, Cardini has designed 3D-printed smartphone covers that "downgrade" your phone to be much dumber.

Following Cardini's talk is a very special short ad that's relevant to topic and a must see (skip the ad preroll to the ad which is Google throwing a Lexus ad on a Volkswagen PSA, go figure!). Kudos Volkswagen. What a brilliant way to communicate how risky it is to use mobile phones while driving. You'll be wanting to share this with everyone you know.




Cardini is currently an MFA Design Assistant Professor at Virginia Commonwealth University in Qatar.

Throwing It Forward With Exciting Appointments, Promotions, New Roles and Certifications



At FSO I’ve always promised you all a career opportunity with our company and not a just job. FSO is the place where dreams come true. In this spirit it’s with great joy that another dream comes true today as I announce yet another promotion from within.

Rather then "throw back" this Thursday, I am going to "throw it forward" in celebration of exciting announcements that will drive a better, stronger foundation for future success.

First, I am extremely pleased to welcome and introduce Peter Stone – our new Chief Financial Officer to the FSO family.  

Peter will report directly to me and be responsible for providing the highest expert level of strategic financial advice and assistance for FSO and our clients – resulting in one of our company’s top goals for 2014 – Profitable revenue and hyper-growth. 

Since 2007, Mr. Stone has been the CFO of New York City based White Cliff Holdings and affiliated investment funds, where he oversaw $250 million in invested capital and fund operations.  Prior to White Cliff, Peter was the Chief Financial Officer, Treasurer and Secretary of Guideline, Inc., a $50 million publicly-traded research and consulting firm which was successfully sold to InfoUSA.  

Mr. Stone is a graduate of the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. In his spare time, Peter enjoys running, having ran the NYC Marathon, numerous half marathons and many other adventure races and road races!

It’s the well-deserved promotion of Missy Adriazola to the position of National Director of Training and Hospitality Development. Missy brings an amazing touch of care, knowledge, and desire to formalize a marathon program for training. Missy and I have spoken in great detail about the needs, expectations and most important the urgency to get field input to help us help you invest your career in the HAPPIEST PLACE ON THE EARTH TO WORK.

Missy has 20+ years coming from the restaurant and hospitality industry and is true subject matter expert within this field. With this White Glove experience, she will bring new levels of customer service and excellence in leadership with our training programs like FSO has never seen before!  

Last but not least, I am proud to announce that Danna Schacter, Business (re)IMAGINATION Analyst and one of FSO’s Subject Matter Experts, was awarded the ARMA International’s Information Governance Professional certification on May 31st, 2014. Industry professionals that have earned the IGP certification have demonstrated that they have the requisite knowledge and strategic perspective to govern an organization’s information assets with maximum ROI while reducing costs and mitigating risks.

We could not be more proud of the dedication and hard work, that Danna has shown in achieving this important accomplishment. The pressure is on the legal industry to reduce expenses, digitize paper and get more productivity from labor. Danna’s certification is further proof of FSO’s commitment to providing our client’s with world class expertise to help solve their most difficult outsourcing challenges.

Welcome to a TERRIFIC Wednesday. It's officially summer here in New York, but "spring" will never leave the steps of all FSO employees.

What does SUMMER mean to ME? It means we will be fulfilling more DREAMS and providing MORE Opportunities for both our employees and clients. We are building a National Brand. We are taking my vision, and all the energy from Headquarters in NY and bring it to all of our Regional Offices and Client Sites.
