Good Morning Folks,

I am pleased to announce the promotion of Shalaine Adams to the newly created position of Regional Manager, Delivering the Experience. And from the reactions of colleagues as quoted above, the whole company welcomes this move with open arms.

FSO is all about THE EXPEREINCE. As you know we have gone national, operating in over 63 cities across the USA. In Shalaine’s new role she will work with all of our teams rolling out our brand Nationwide. Shalaine will lead and assist in training, her largest percent of time, specifically around the CLIENT and EMPLOYEE experience. As well as on boarding our folks, assisting sales in presentations while continue to work with our People Solutions team; partnering with Chelsea and Missy, to set standards and EXPERIENCE training nationally.

Prior to joining the FSO Family two years ago, Shalaine was an Executive Assistant with Canon (once owned by me) for 13 years; yes she started working when she was 12, LOL. When not a “trainer extraordinaire”, Shalaine loves to sing and dance, those of us who are here late with her on Friday nights can attest to her exceptional vocal talents! She is approaching her new position with all the enthusiasm and excitement that has made her famous throughout the FSO Nation. Shalaine will start her new role on September 2nd and will be headquartered in our Midwest regional office in the downtown Chicago loop.

“Words cannot express how excited I am to accept my new role as Regional Manager, Delivering the Experience," Shalaine told me. She also wants everyone to know...
"As I reflect back on my humble beginnings as an Informationalist; I knew I wanted to grow and further my career with FSO. I set goals and came to work with purpose & drive. I realized that believing in Mitch and the promise of a career, not just a job, was my privilege as an FSO employee!

Soon, my dreams began coming to fruition as I became a part of Future Leaders Program (FLP), and was promoted to Assistant Manager, then EM, on to Corporate Trainer and most recently Regional Manager! Today I have reached the first plateau to my newly set goals and I am well on my way!

“I truly feel that touching our employees and delivering on the FSO experience is an honor, every day I get to hug, inspire, train & motivate the greatest employees in the world, I am truly Blessed!

My experience as part of the FSO family has been an amazing; I look forward to paying it forward! I am truly honored and look forward to lighting up the nation!”
I want to Congratulate Shalaine for this terrific accomplishment. Shalaine’s promotion is just one example of how FSO is changing the onsite outsourcing world!

If it were not for our amazing people, our outstanding clients, our unique strategy and most importantly our love for our clients and employees, we simply couldn't have come so far! Our commitment to exceeding our client’s expectations, ensuring that every single person is the best trained and best prepared employee they can be.  This is what sets us apart!

The Best is Yet to Come! We have only just begun.

Have a GREAT day as I look forward to seeing all of you soon.

Ted Tuesday: Writing My Wrongs: Shaka Senghor at TedX Midwest

"Making the best out of a bad situation, Shaka offers sobering firsthand accounts of redemption, the power of hope and how literature changed his life.

Good Morning Folks,

At FSO, we believe in second chances and have some great stories to boast about of our own. Because anyone with >>skip, >>fire and >>twinkle that is willing to learn, apply themselves and grow, has the right to become all they can be.

That's why I love my Ted selection for you today. WOW! Here is powerful testimony of a realistic examination of life in the world of urban inner city America. Shaka Senghor needs to be on every talk show, every news stations, and should be paid handsomely to tell story. What an upside down world we live in.

In 1991, Shaka Senghor shot and killed a man. He was, he says, "a drug dealer with a quick temper and a semi-automatic pistol." Jailed for second degree murder, that could very well have been the end of the story. But it wasn't. Instead, it was the beginning of a years-long journey to redemption, one with humbling and sobering lessons for us all.

Using literature as a lifeline, Shaka Senghor escaped a cycle of prison and desperation. Now his story kindles hope in those who have little.

At the age of 19, Shaka Senghor went to prison fuming with anger and despair. Senghor was a drug dealer in Detroit, and one night, he shot and killed a man who showed up on his doorstep. While serving his sentence for second-degree murder, Senghor discovered redemption and responsibility through literature -- starting with The Autobiography of Malcolm X -- and through his own writing.

Upon his release at the age of 38, Senghor reached out to young men following his same troubled path, and published Live in Peace as part of an outreach program bringing hope to kids in Detroit and across the Midwest.

Shaka Senghor's story of redemption has inspired young adults at high schools and universities across the nation. While serving 19 years in prison, Senghor discovered his love for writing. He has written six books, including a memoir about his life in prison, Writing My Wrongs. In 2012, Senghor's Live in Peace Digital and Literary Arts Project won a Black Male Engagement Leadership Award from the Knight Foundation in partnership with the Open Society Foundation's Campaign for Black Male Achievement. Senghor has also recently been named a Director's Fellow at MIT for his work.

Join nearly a million others and Have a look at....

Well done Shaka I love your forward thinking.

How lucky are we to be able be given new chances to improve ourselves, improve the way we serve our clients, improve the way we work with our staff, as well as to improve the way these opportunities are spread among all levels of employment at FSO. This is important.

Because great companies make sure that opportunities are available to all levels and not only to a select few. No other outsourcing company does this to their staff and I am a living proof, because I’ve been in the business since the dinosaurs roamed.

Let's all go make things happen today. I look forward to seeing you soon.

Love Life!

"We are so proud of what our culture represents: A commitment to the Employee & Client Experience starting at the top, with my undivided attention and passion guaranteed."

Good Morning Folks,

Our company is based on some very solid beliefs - training, motivating, and building a career path for the passionate people who consistently do a great job for our clients.

Everyone is empowered to spot talent and develop future leaders. Our people become a part of the FSO family and are embraced from the moment they walk through our doors for VIP on-boarding and Experience Greatness Training. For FSO, the goal is not just to retain outstanding talent; it's about helping our talent realize their full potential through growth and discovery. FSO takes great people and we make them even better by giving them knowledge, a career path and, most importantly, the confidence to succeed in any environment. For many, we give them hope when they want more but are wondering, "How can I achieve it?"

At FSO, we answer that question by steering, cross-training and developing the teams until they see and experience the success that comes along with our goal-oriented focus. We encourage our people to dream personally and professionally. With programs like our Future Leaders Program we have the chance to hear their voices and ensure that their new ideas are implemented into our organization.

Nothing is more important to the leadership team at FSO than ensuring the very best employee experience for every single person working within our organization; our revolutionary training & development program is proof of that. As pioneers of taking care of the hourly employee, we literally invented this stuff. By giving our people the tools they need to succeed, we are able to build the most highly trained and motivated team in the industry.

Our FSO Training programs fall into two extensive levels of training: discipline-based and leadership-driven training for all company employees.

Our clients benefit as we continually enhance skill sets of our staff as part of our commitment to ongoing skill and career advancement.

Our training programs ensure that end users receive Total Customer Satisfaction at all times by:
  • Delivering world class service levels
  • Implementing best practices at every site
  • Executing succession planning and leadership development of our core talent
We are so proud of what our culture represents: A commitment to the Employee & Client Experience starting at the top, with my undivided attention and passion guaranteed. As our business grows, I remain committed to helping each and every FSO employee grow and develop within our organization so that they can fulfill their greatest dreams.

That is my solemn pledge to them, and my commitment to you.

We are on fire and we are going to LIGHT UP the ON SITE OUTSOURCING BUSINESS. We are not playing in this space. We are here to own it, and will be adding resources proactively and strategically to support our budding infrastructure."

Have a great start to the week, and thanks for being a part of our amazing journey.

InspireME Friday: At FSO, We Are Family

    Peter Stone, FSO CFO
"Notice someone who looks like they’re having a bad day?  Remind them that they work for the Smile Company; or better yet, do something from the heart that will put the smile on their face for them. See someone doing something that is wasting company money? Show them that you care enough about them and FSO to instruct them on the right way to do things."

    Good Morning Folks,

Every Friday's I select one of my favorite inspirational posts from our internal communications to share with you.

Today our CFO Peter Stone returns to knock it out of the park a second time with a post titled "We Are Family".

    Here's Peter:
    Good morning FSO USA!

Many people have already written about the concept of family as it applies to FSO, but family is a subject near and dear to my heart, so I’ m going to write about it again!  As some of you know, but many of you don’t, I am from a big family – I’m one of 11 children (same parents, no twins).
I’m number 10, and I very neatly had 5 brothers and 5 sisters. We were a big, chaotic hive of positive energy – sound like any place you know? And though we were decidedly middle class, with each other’s help, every one of us worked our way through college, and we managed to produce a doctor, 2 engineers, a teacher, and 5 corporate executives. And now I have 2 kids of my own and 22 nieces and nephews.

The unique and wonderful thing about family is its permanence – no matter what you do, they will always be your family. This gives family members the freedom to support each other and push each other and look out for each other in ways that are hard to match with friends and neighbors. Sometimes only family can give us the constructive criticism we need to be better people.  Often only family cares enough to do so – after all, it’s easier not to confront someone on an uncomfortable topic.
But for a family, letting other family members fail is simply not an option so you do what you have to do. And in turn, knowing that support structure is there is what gives us the ability to go out and try new things and reach for our own goals.

So my message today is for all of us to really go out and be a family, both when it’s easy and fun and when it requires tough love. Let’s look out for each other and challenge each other and help each other be better at achieving the FSO vision.
Notice someone who looks like they’re having a bad day?  Remind them that they work for the Smile Company; or better yet, do something from the heart that will put the smile on their face for them. See someone doing something that is wasting company money? Show them that you care enough about them and FSO to instruct them on the right way to do things.

Families don’t think in terms of months or a year or two. Families talk about what it will be like when they are older and the next generation grows up.  Sort of like how we talk about 2020 and beyond. We are in it together, so let’s continue to build the family company that we are so proud of, and firmly establish Mitch’s vision and legacy for generations to come.

    Have a great day!

    Best,
    Peter
Peter, we are a very lucky family to have a new family member  join us. I for one, completely enjoy having you here and what you are doing for our family. Thanks for this awesome message..

Summer is quickly slipping away and the beaches are waiting, so from the entire Exceutive Leadership Team, thank you again for all you do and to making FSO USA the Greatest Onsite Outsourcing Company in the world.

Cheers and have a HAPPY, SAFE and JOYOUS weekend.

    Love Life!

Kudos Wednesday: Kind Words From Our Customers

"Crystal has really stepped up with Christian getting pulled off the reception desk… our toughest customer has gone out of his way to tell me she has done a great job, is on the ball, and always follows up.
They are both doing a great job!!"

    Good Morning Folks,

At FSO, our employees are expected to always seek new ways to make our client’s life better – the white glove treatment, the whole FSO Experience. It is not just a tagline for our brand – rather, it is the way we approach everything we do.

With all the our national expansion and opportunity to support our current clients literally anywhere and everywhere across FSO USA, we have a tremendous opportunity to expand our current services with our clients and make our their lives easier from IT Solutions, to Records/Imaging Services, to Conference Center management, to Document Production and more, more and more.

Our growth also represents opportunity for all employees to expand your horizons and responsibilities.

I am so proud of what our culture represents: a commitment to the Client and Employee experience! Hear it direct from our client's mouths:

Ashley Menear & Derek Williams, Y&R
"Kudos to all of you and your staff! But, especially the 3 of you!  I know better than anyone how particular and demanding this client can be and how much work goes into planning and executing this 2 day meeting. I very much appreciate your efforts. You’re all amazing."

Christian Marius and Crystal Peoples, Soros
"Aida – wanted to take a second to tell you what a GREAT job both Christian and Crystal are doing!! Christian has turned into a backup to basically every one of our executive assistants and the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive! Everyone is asking for his help and our PMs, CIO, Analysts, etc all benefit from him covering rather than an outside temp. He has been SEAMLESS in doing this!! Crystal has really stepped up with Christian getting pulled off the reception desk… our toughest customer has gone out of his way to tell me she has done a great job, is on the ball, and always follows up.They are both doing a great job!!"

    Informationalist Team, Capco

"Thank you to all of you for your fine professionalism over the last two weeks as you pulled together what was a very successful event for Capco, Digital and for our partner Hub Culture. I was tremendously impressed with you calm under pressure / annoyance / aggressiveness from me. Thank you very much for your help and your continued assistance."

    Desmond Myers, Argo
"Good Morning, Is it possible to have Desmond Myers for another week to assist on the records project at Argo. She has been doing a fabulous job to date and there is still a good amount of work to be completed."

Driven by the People Solutions Group, training is an urgent and never-ending
priority for Chief Chaos Officer Jim Caton and His Team

Our summer meeting was not your father's company picnic.
    READ ALL ABOUT IT
Thanks fort taking the time to write to me about these gifted employees. I am always eager to hear more about how we are doing.

The PERSONAL touch AND CARE that our clients complimented us on…this is what sets us apart; this is why we are blowing the competition out of the water every chance we get, this is why our employees LOVE FSO and feel the connection to us!

THANK YOU for all of your support and hard work…WE really appreciate it!

Ted Tuesday: Pixar Storyteller Andrew Stanton ("Toy Story," "WALL-E") on Storytelling

"Whether it is something you want to sell, to make others see your point or just something you want to share. If it comes with a good story, something the listener can relate to, that is true to you as the teller of the story. That is a good story! One that the other will remember and even retell to friends or relatives."

    Good Morning Folks,

In today's Ted Talk Filmmaker Andrew Stanton ("Toy Story," "WALL-E") shares what he knows about storytelling — starting at the end and working back to the beginning.

Stories are especially relevant to FSO as, like Hollywood, we start with a blank canvas and a vision and begin (re)imagining for our a clients a future very different from the known and expected.

I love telling stories. I grew up listening to stories at family gatherings and always encouraged my running friends to tell stories during group runs. Even catching up with friends, for me, is about telling stories.

A good story can make a campfire that much eerier. A good story can flip a conversation at a party from completely awkward to wonderful. A good story can glue your nose to a book. And, on screen, a good story can rivet generation after generation.

So, uh, how do you tell one?

In order to tell a good story, though, don't you need to get out and live and have experiences? I mean that is a story right?

    A time when...
    A place where...
    A person who...

Alternatively, I suppose you could just be extremely imaginative and creative and make up a story, but I think the best ones have an element of truth.

The art of making a story about what you want to share with the world.

Storytelling makes life easier for everyone. Without it, every form of communication would be lost in translation. Storytelling turns the most complicated subject into something simple. It makes a boring task enjoyable. With a little exaggeration thrown in, storytelling is the conveyance of ideas into something meaningful. It is a powerful communicator that makes ideas come alive, making room for community sharing, learning and exploration!

The film industry quickly understood that introducing language, via talking, wasn't just about dialogue. You had to tell a story. The rise of the scriptwriter ensued, with films making or breaking based on the script. It is ever so today. Films can be simple or sophisticated, but their success depends on our understanding of the messaging, the story.

    Visual messaging -
keep it simple stupid or keep it visual stupid. A picture really does tell 1000 words.  You just have to select a good image that goes with a good story.

    Know your Audience -
pitch your message to the audience intended. That means understanding your messaging well enough to change it for each group.

    Review your Audience -
ensure you messaging is understood by asking them what you said.

Andrew Stanton, the Pixar writer and director behind both Toy Story and WALL-E, has many ideas, and he shared his expertise in his TED Talk, The clues to a great story.  Andrew Stanton has won two Oscars and is the writer behind Toy Story. His TED talk, Clues to a great story, details seven important topics for every storyteller. The full video is embedded below.

Whether it is something you want to sell, to make others see your point or just something you want to share. If it comes with a good story, something the listener can relate to, that is true to you as the teller of the story. That is a good story! One that the other will remember and even retell to friends or relatives.

So tell a good story, it will make an impression that lasts.

Let's all go make things happen today. I look forward to seeing you soon.

    Love Life!

    Live Life. LOVE Life!

The Buddha said, “You have no cause for anything but gratitude and joy.”

    Good Morning Folks,

Jonathan Swift wrote, “May you live every day of your life.”  While it is clearly obvious that we are alive—living and breathing human beings, how much of the time we are spending on Earth are we really living? How can we tell?

An entire lifetime can be spent on searching outward for the true purpose of life. There is no right or wrong scenario in the notion that we embark on this journey of self-realization. However, when we refuse to acknowledge our Being as the ultimate truth, we are indeed living, but solely for the betterment of others.

So… How can we live every day of our lives?

After over a decade of study, best-selling co-author Michelle Rosado, ("Pursuing Your Destiny: How to Overcome Adversity and Achieve Your Dreams), offers a few ways she's learned to live a mindful and peace life:

    1. Be Present.
To live in the present means to BE present in all you do. Observe your thoughts as if your mind was a separate entity from self. Take a few moments throughout the day to be still and honor the time you spend with your higher self. Remember, this moment is the most important one of all.

    2. Be Compassionate.
Hardly any effort can be found in expressing compassion for anyone who is in need of guidance. It is our natural instinct as compassionate Beings to offer assistance in times of need. But when the hurtful words of another creates a lasting emotional scar on one’s heart, the ego can be diffused by showing love and compassion for the one inflicting the hurt.

    3. Be Grateful.
The Buddha said, “You have no cause for anything but gratitude and joy.” When you feel as if there is a lost sense of hope in humanity and receive a “reality slap” from your current circumstance, it is the perfect opportunity to look within. There is much to be grateful for when we are present and aware of our gifts.

    4. Be Yourself.
Many of us have experienced conditioning in our childhood that only accommodate others – in our thoughts, actions and speech. It is by fear that we continue living in this mindset throughout our adulthood, and by choosing to unravel the layers of the past can we truly be free. Make this a daily practice, for being yourself is one of the most precious gifts you can give to others, and to your soul.

What makes this advice so special is Michelle's rise from adversity: Her book, Pursuing Your Destiny: How to Overcome Adversity and Achieve Your Dreams" is the touching true story about how Michelle escaped from the World Trade Center on 911 into the life she never dreamed possible. Together, with her husband Randy, they share the experiences of their chance meeting which brought these two souls together to create one life they share.

Michelle's brush with death on 911 reminds us that time waits for no one. Treasure every moment you have. No one is ever guaranteed tomorrow. To realize the value of a friend or family member: LOSE ONE.

As I have often reminded our teams, anything is possible. Regardless of where you work, or what you do, always continue to learn what makes people successful and what makes them fail.

Because.. The most important resource in the entire universe is YOU. Products, services, innovation, ideas, breakthroughs – they all exist in your head, your heart and your hands. The output of your thinking, the engaging of your heart and the enlistment of your hands create profound results.

“Successful people do what unsuccessful people can’t do”. Find me anyone with skip, fire and twinkle who wants to learn and grow, and I will promise you a career in my company, never just a job. No one ever sets out to be average at FSO, we need to be the best at everything we do.

We have amazing employees, customers and leaders. Thanks to our employees for all you do for us, and to our clients for all you award us the privilege of doing for you.

Have a GREAT day as I look forward to seeing all of you soon.
