Good Morning Folks,

As Founder, Chief Happiness Officer & Owner of FSO, it gives me great pleasure to share with you every Wednesday, the client fan mail I get from in praise of our employees, working on their sites.

With a twinkle in their eye, a skip in their step and  fire in their belly, our approachable and professional guest service focused teams are brand ambassadors delivering perfect service. They exude a deep level of commitment to customer service— the whole "White-Glove" experience, and are as comfortable greeting employees as they arrive each morning as they are setting up conferences and events for the world's top power brokers, who hold key leadership and board positions at our distinguished clients.

Daryl at The New York City Offices of The World's #1 Consulting Firm...

He is always know for functioning at a rapid pace from the time he enters the office until the end of each day. Darryl’s reliability, experience and “can do” attitude is highly valued by the clients and colleagues alike."

Rita at The Above Mentioned Firm, Chicago Office..

"We wanted to thank you for your assistance with the MPL meeting. With twenty partners involved, it was most helpful when you escorted them to the boardroom. We were pulled in many directions but we were confident all would go well because you were backing us up. Your assistance proved invaluable to us today. We look forward to the next event. Rita continue to deliver a great customer service experience for our high end clients!"

"Want to praise Karina's performance over here at 200 Fifth over the course of the last three months. Specifically during our vendor presentations for the  Video Imaging project two weeks ago she was great in both helping the many guests and solving  some of the A.V. issues we experienced. Know this has been a transitional period for 200, and her solid work daily supporting us at the reception desk is appreciated by Original Content."

Kudos to Carolyn

"Carolyn exemplifies the FSO spirit. She is always in a great mood, always delivers excellent service to her clients, is loved by her clients, has been with the site 10+ years, and has PERFECT attendance the entire time she has worked for me. Great job and keep it up!"

The Team At a Global Political Organization...

"I want to thank each and every one of you for the excellent team work that led to the success of our event on Procurement for Women's Economic Empowerment, Friday afternoon. "We would like to say thank you to Ladon for his hard work and dedication, out Client loves him and would like for him to move on to his next role. Thanks Ladon for all you do."

Thanks to Gorge & Miguel

And Kudos to Jasmine!

THANKS for all you do each and every single day. Your contagious enthusiasm and cheerful smiles engage senses, touch hearts and start the day pleasantly for everyone you meet.

To other companies reading this: Rewards are both earned and learned... so spread it on thick. Love on your workforce when they deserve it .... they will surely want to repeat the experience. As Richard Branson says: "If you take care of your employees, they will take care of your customers."

For employees, forging a fulfilling career is one of the most important — and often, most difficult —challenges in building a happy life. For employers, building a culture of happiness is key to cementing their brand’s success. When these interests converge, the result is a sense of belonging through shared values and an intangible, emotional belief that we are on a shared journey.

We look forward to giving YOU your own “Shout Out” coming soon to a Wednesday near you.

Have a GREAT day,

Love Life!

Making FSO The Greatest Place To Work: The Fireside Chat

"Watching as we bounced ideas left & right ignited a fire in not only me but in other employees as well."

Photo: A group of employees from all walks of the company meets with me for a Fireside Chat.

Good Morning Folks,

Encouragement and acknowledgement of exceptional effort is crucial to creating a positive work environment. We have so many great things happening within our company.

We have opportunities for all employees to meet and give transparent, honest feedback to me and the entire ELT during our CHO Clubs, Fireside Chats, ELT Breakfasts, and Happy Hours.

Of all these new initiatives, our Fireside Chats have struck a chord. It was great for employees to share strategies and ideas with peers, as well as to meet new people, and have some Face Time with Executive Leadership.

Fireside chat is the term used to describe a series of 30 evening radio addresses given by U.S. President Franklin D. Roosevelt between 1933 and 1944. The fireside chats represent the first time in history that a chief executive communicated directly with a large number of citizens. Roosevelt was one of radio's greatest communicators, and the fireside chats kept him in high public regard throughout his presidency.

And now Fireside Chats at FSO provide a warm and safe environment for FSO employees to speak directly to a chief executive. At the January event, folks from the field interacted with our people solutions team. In last week's chat, I addressed the hopes, needs, ambitions and opportunities of employees directly. There was no lack of ideas, comments, and recommendations. We are so lucky to have amazing people and I was so inspired after speaking with you.

This is typical of the feedback I received:
"Thanks for your time & hospitality during our fireside chat at headquarters. Yesterday's meeting was quite productive & I feel inclined to say that we discussed a lot of solutions to topics that’ll benefit FSO for a brighter tomorrow. I enjoyed interacting with other FSO employees & see what topics they had to discuss as well. Watching as we bounced ideas left & right ignited a fire in not only me but in other employees as well. To continue the excitement I am leading today’s huddle to talk about what we discussed yesterday at our meeting."
Let's continue to celebrate our awesome teammates and all of our achievements.

THANKS for all you do each and every single day, as I look forward to seeing all of you soon in my travels.

FSO's Bright Stars Shine at CHO Club

"The monthly CHO club provides the perfect platform to award, recognize and incentivize our top performers."

Good Morning Folks,

Our job in hospitality is to make the client feel as if they are at home and create memories and experiences that want to make clients "return."  As important as it is to take care of our clients, it is equally important to take care of all of our team members. The more enthusiastic and happy our employees are at work the more productive they will be. Without the support of each team member that “WOW” factor will never be given to our clients.

Along with the multiple on-the-spot recognition and award programs we execute and deliver on at all our sites, I as Founder, Chief Happiness Officer and CEO host a recurring monthly CHO Club to personally thank and recognize our field staff who have gone above and beyond the call.

This week our CHO Club convened fore Happy Hour at Tonic East in Manhattan. It was great for employees to share strategies and ideas with peers, as well as to meet new people, and have some FaceTime with Executive Leadership. As you can see we had tons of fun....

Folks like those welcomed into CHO Club and given a shout out here truly personify the FSO experience and pleasant demeanor that keep our client's office running like a well-oiled machine. These folks come to work each with a big smile on their face ready to help anyone out.

To other companies reading this: Rewards are both earned and learned... so spread it on thick. Love on your workforce when they deserve it .... they will surely want to repeat the experience. As Richard Branson says: "If you take care of your employees, they will take care of your customers."

Spread the word. Our next next “thank you event” of the year is just around there corner. Membership in the club is awarded based on ideas, strategies and cost savings suggested to the client and kudos received from clients.

Good luck to all of our employees and see you there.

THANKS for all you do each and every single day, as I look forward to seeing all of you soon in my travels.

Shout Out Wednesday: CHO Club— Bringing Out Our Best

"Thank you for CHO Club. It was an honor to be chosen, and the venue was awesome. So many people work for companies and don't have the privilege of being able to interact with the President and Founders let alone share a drink with them after work! THIS is what sets us aside from the competition! These events are great because it puts us in touch with one another. The personal aspect of FSO is alive and well in this company."

Good Morning Folks,

FSO loves nothing more than rewarding our hard-working and valued employees! That in mind, our 7th monthly CHO Club convened before the holiday break at The Liberty in New York City.

Today, I write to say, "THANK YOU for INSPIRING ME." CHO Club was perfect, exciting, and, most important, INSPIRING. I so enjoy when we have a casual time to chat, recognize your victories, listen to your ideas, wins, strategies, and hopes for personal accomplishments.

The CHO club is just another example of going above and beyond to say thanks to the wonderful people who serve our clients each and every day. These monthly recognition meetings provide the perfect platform to award, recognize, and incentivize our top performers.

The entire executive Leadership Team and I were excited for some time to get PERSONAL and share your FSO experiences so we can learn and continue to grow. As you can see, we had tons of fun....

There is still time to qualify for September's CHO Club. Among the prerequisites for being nominated are kudos from managers and our clients. Kudos like...

The Banking Vice President of Administrative Services and Facilities who wrote about our James & Shanika .....
"Just wanted to say that James has brought the energy level way up for the entire team! He has people working harder and faster than I have seen before. The new associate, Shanika, continues to do fast accurate work, which has been nothing less than AWESOME!!!!  I want to thank you for your continued help in trying to build a successful team. We seem to be making progress, and I appreciate all of the work you are personally doing to make this happen."

Or the Telecom executive who wrote to us about Pernissa & Leo at a major national account...
"I wanted to recognize the fantastic work that you and Pernissa provided during our distribution of the new phones. This is a very high profile implementation requiring meticulous and careful inspection and packaging, and your help allowed me to turn the shipments around in the same day. I realize that the help you provided is above and beyond your normal scope of work and I sincerely appreciate it!  I have been raving to everyone about how great you guys are. Thanks Again!"

Plus, these kudos directly from the account's president about Ray & Cleon's ability to deliver hospitality and execute a beautiful experience that surrounds it...
"A huge and personal thanks from me to all of you for the tireless effort that went into yesterday’s sessions. The fact that we pulled it off was nothing short of an advertising miracle made possible because of all of you and the hustle. We secured a cinema, visited the site (twice), ordered more audio and tech equipment (who knew what a confidence monitor was?) fed 300 people, and had great attendance. We created four great stories for four of our next generation clients, and we invited our people to learn and share in our work. We even had a fake fire crackling in the background for our fireside chats. I mean, C’mon. We hosted a dinner with an ever changing cast of characters. A huge thanks to Jen W in the final days for the epic effort yesterday and to Theonia for arranging that site visit on a minutes notice and getting us there last week. As always, you make our space look legitimate- thank you."

From a Healthcare client testifying to the benefit of having an informed concierge like our Miguel and his "do anything for the customer" attitude...
"Several weeks ago, I reserved a “hotel room” on the website Hotels.com.   I arrived at your place to find out that "Luxury on the Hudson” was in fact a sublet apartment that I had reserved and, in fact, had already been charged for…. And, in fact, had been double booked. I was completely screwed. No place to stay and nowhere to go. One of your AMAZING concierge or desk service personnel, Miguel, helped me for HOURS.  He went SO FAR above and beyond to help me get settled, find a room, get a cab… everything.  He was absolutely fantastic and although continued to do his ACTUAL job…. He went out of his way to help me. I hope he is recognized for his professionalism, his help and his overall work ethic. Miguel… thank you. You are the man."

And finally a tribute to Carolin working on site for us at the world's largest advertising and public relations headquarters....
"You should all give Carolin a big THANK YOU for stepping up today. It was a tough Monday, fielding difficult and last minutes requests from our parent company for two different meetings/reservations. Although Carolin had not been involved in any of the bookings she handled all requests with professionalism, courtesy and  a true desire to help! She is to be commended."

Folks like those welcomed into CHO Club and given a shout out here truly personify the FSO experience and pleasant demeanor that keep our client's office running like a well-oiled machine. These folks come to work each with a big  smile on their face ready to help anyone out.

THANKS for all you do each and every single day.

We look forward to giving YOU your own “Shout Out” coming soon to a Wednesday near you.

CHO Club April: Stars Make Their Mark On The FSO Walk of Fame

"FSO loves nothing more than rewarding our hard-working and valued employees!"

Good Morning Folks,

The sign of making it in Hollywood is to have your hand prints make their mark by being enshrined in the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

The equivalent at FSO is being nominated to participate in our monthly CHO Club. The CHO club is just another example of going above and beyond to say thanks to the wonderful people who serve our clients each and every day. These monthly recognition meetings provide the perfect platform to award, recognize and incentivize our top performers.

Some thought that our March event, which I blogged about here, couldn't be topped. Well last night it was. I loved the night, loved the people and the people loved us.

Today I write to say, THANK YOU for INSPIRING ME. Yesterday's CHO club was perfect, exciting, and most important INSPIRING.

I so enjoy when we have a casual time to chat, recognize your victories, listen to your ideas, wins, strategies and hopes for personal accomplishments.

I made it my business to speak to every award winner including Dianne who could not talk, but made it. Lol…

Commented an employee: "Just felt I needed to thank you once again for yesterdays CHO Club get together. It was an honor to be chosen and the venue was awesome. So many people work for companies and don't have the privilege of being able to interact with the President and Founders let alone share a drink with them after work! THIS is what sets us aside from the competition! These events are great because it puts us in touch with one another. The personal aspect of FSO is alive and well in this company."

The teams were on fire and it is so easy for me to see clearly our FLP, and MRP winners today and into the future.

I left with Chelsea last night so happy with your accomplishments and how that completely translates into our client experience. It was my highlight of the year so far and I am already thinking of cool new locations like last night for May's event

It's because FSO loves nothing more than rewarding our hard-working and valued employees! Our employees represent FSO with confidence, knowledge, professionalism, smiles and a spark. From myself and the Executive Leadership Team to all of our employees across the nation – we want to say thank you for always helping us to reach these goals and congratulations to all the winners from headquarters and the field.

Spread the word. Our next next “thank you event” of the year is just around there corner. The CHO Club will be at the end of May. Membership in the club is awarded based on ideas, strategies and cost savings suggested to the client and kudos received from clients.

Good luck to all of our employees and see you there.

Have a GREAT end to a GREAT week as I look forward to seeing all of you soon in my travels.

Hugs all around,

Love Springs Eternal at FSO (and did we remind you WE'RE HIRING?)

"If you have an idea, share your idea! Look to grow with the company! Do not be afraid to take the leaps necessary to help this organization grow—it will in turn help you grow as well."

Good Morning Folks,

I hope you had a great great holiday weekend. What a beautiful spring weekend :)

Lots of great things are happening as we welcome the longer and warmer days of spring into FSO.

We have worked together to build great momentum and are on the way to bigger and better things. Better infrastructure leading to better results, client satisfaction and more business opportunities. This all happened because of you – because each one of you care deeply about FSO and our customers.  Your professionalism, dedication and commitment are an inspiration to me and I have shared this feedback with many of you, both at HQ and in the field.

The most important thing about our business is our people (YOU). We believe the winning recipe to ensure that our clients are WOW!ed and love FSO, is to hire brilliant people, train & empower them, and recognize & reward them. And, last week was a great example of our commitment to this! We re-launched the monthly CHO Club (and it was an awesome event) and will have our first MIT management training session this Tuesday that will be led by Me! My sincerest congratulations and THANK YOU to everyone who was recognized....we are counting on our employees and YOU made a difference! Great job.

I am a strong believer in the power of positive energy. I have seen both in my personal and professional life that you can achieve great success and overcome adversity by finding positive aspect in every situation. As we head into the week, I ask each of you to take a moment to self reflect. Does your team know about all of the GREAT things that are happening at FSO? Do they know about all of the opportunities that are available for them to feel how valued they are to me and the entire ELT? Are you taking the time to talk and listen to your team? Are you training your team? Are you making it PERSONAL? Are you sharing this feedback with your director, the PSTeam, the ELT?

We are here for you...you have tons of support. Strong communications team - this is the key to our success!  FSO is a company that is all about coming up with the best possible solution to best support our clients. If you have an idea, share your idea! Look to grow with the company! Do not be afraid to take the leaps necessary to help this organization grow—it will in turn help you grow as well.
