Shout Out Wednesday: Caught In The Act of Delivering the WOW!

"Brenda and Jean have consistently demonstrated competent and timely support to assist me in meeting my professional needs and have demonstrated a positive attitude even when faced with challenging short-term requests."

Good Morning Folks,

Today we honor our PwC team members who have been caught delivering the WOW! to our client who has told us so in these words:

Anthony, PwC Stamford
"I am the CRE on Bridgewater and I wanted to let you know how helpful Anthony has been to the team over the last few months. on two different occasions my team made an error and had documents sent to NY to be printed and they should have been sent to Stamford. I had to ask Anthony to drop everything he was doing and to have it printed quickly for two big meetings. He has been phenomenal."

Angela, PwC Melville
"It was my pleasure to finally visit the Melville office, and it was beautiful! It was very clean and I could tell managed well, so thank you for you and Daniel's efforts regarding the office space. I hope to visit more often in the future."

Brenda & Cattell, PwC Columbus

"I am local to the PwC Chicago office however do extensive travelling in my role with the Firm. Specifically, I spent about half of my last year travelling to Columbus to support roles on the JPMorgan Chase and Huntington Engagements. My overall feedback is that in my trips to other offices I have not experienced an Office Services team more helpful and responsive as Brenda and Jean have been during my time working out of the Columbus office. Specifically, the following represent primary areas of assistance / support over the past year:
•               Long-term hotelling needs and conference room reservations;
•               Document production requests (regularly short notice and high volume) for client presentations;
•               Specialized supply requests; and,
•               Office access needs for travelling resources.

In each of the above circumstances, Brenda and Jean have consistently demonstrated competent and timely support to assist me in meeting my professional needs and have demonstrated a positive attitude even when faced with challenging short-term requests.
Further, during the last year the Columbus office has undergone a number of staffing changes to the third member of the Office Services team and in many cases Brenda and Jean have taken on the responsibilities of that role themselves. I have observed that this has often led to Brenda and Jean working longer then standard hours (e.g. often until 7 PM) to meet rush document production jobs or other needs of the Office's personnel. Despite this additional strain, Brenda and Jean consistently maintained a positive attitude throughout and did not let the quality and / or timeliness of support to office personnel slip. Thanks for your assistance and support and look forward to working with you both in the future."

Cacharel, PwC Seattle *2 Kudos in One Month*
"I wanted to share some Kudos around the move and since the move. Thanks for catching up with us this morning! Cacharel (Seattle): Has, and continues to, go above and beyond to resolve move related Challenges and the transition go smoothly. We couldn't do it without her!"

Elinor, PwC San Juan

"You are the best!! Thanks very much for what you did, it was just great!! Many thanks."

Francis, PwC Jersey City *2 Kudos in One Month*
"Thanks Francis for your help the last couple of weeks securing interview spots for our team and summer interns- it is appreciated!"

"I want to say a BIG thank you for all of your help yesterday with coordinating our many visitors who came to the Jersey City office --- from connecting with building security to have them on the access list, granting them access to the floor when they arrived and organizing hoteling space. Our visitors from our other PwC office locations received a good experience to Jersey City because of you."

Jennifer, PwC Hartford
"Thanks for always letting me know when I have received certified mail. It is much appreciated!"

Jeremy, PwC Harford *2 Kudos in One Month*
"I wanted to share a quick note detailing the performance of Records Center Associate Jeremy. Jeremy helped me today and yesterday archive the 2013 Integrated Audit external workpaper binders for the Cigna Engagement team and processed the approval of the 2014 binders as well. I dropped in to the records center yesterday at approximately 4:15pm yesterday with a stack of 45+ binders to be stamped and signed and a car load of 2013 binders to be stocked and archived. Jeremy was more than helpful in assisting me in my request, despite the short notice. He made the process seamless and has always been most helpful in any situation since I've dealt with him. Jeremy is an outstanding asset to the Hartford Office. If you have any questions please feel free to reach out. Thank you and have a great day!"

"I’m an experienced associate here at PwC Hartford. I want to take the time and write this note to acknowledge and show our appreciation for all the service that Jeremy provided us during our Lydall Inc. yearend audit. From mailing out confirmation to sending support to GADM, Jeremy provided us excellent service. Jeremy conducted himself with class and professionalism. We requested several requests during the audit and Mr. Ifill provided service in a timely and professional manner. As is well known, the most stressful period of this job is during the year end of an audit. Teams are very busy and stress overtakes people’s emotions. I want to note that Jeremy provided a positive attitude and was will to accommodate any changes we had to our request. It was a pleasure working with Jeremy and we look forward to working with him in the future."

GREAT JOB TEAM! It’s All About The Hospitality And DNA Of Our Folks. Thanks For Making Our Clients Proud They Hired FSO And You.

Have a fabulous day filled with love and inspiration.

Hugs all around,

Always Do The Right Thing

"It's about how we treat and care about our people. How we motivate them and continue to develop our folks.  Folks do the right thing. Trust and believe in your leadership. Always do the right thing and love life."

Good Morning Folks,

Greetings to the greatest people in the on site outsourcing business. I hope everyone had an awesome weekend and was able to spend a bit of time relaxing and clearing your mind so you are fresh and ready for another awesome week at FSO.

As we grow and look forward to a prosperous future, we will never forget the Personal, Passionate & Productive mindset from which we began.

We promised you that from the beginning that we will improve service, reduce/control cost and take care of the people. We are taking a step forward to never losing sight of the promise by going back to the basics.

Because our employees are our connections to clients, we need to ensure that they have a clear understanding of what FSO does, stands for and is achieving for you each and every day. That’s why we established Mitch’s Institute of Training (MIT).

Across FSO USA, we have been making great strides in our commitment and the Power of Focus to impact the Client Experience and ensure that we execute and deliver operational expertise. These past two weeks have been packed full of strong activity, great meetings and the launch of the MIT will be one of if not our strongest commitments and training tools to ensure everyone across FSO is continually learning and growing

One thing we know and that is momentum is how businesses thrive and grow, and our momentum is rocking – so Train the Trainer is in full motion through our MIT and we begin the next phase. Just imagine ONE TEAM across FSO that know everything about the company there are part of and what we stand for and what and how we sell and why clients bought us and why prospects buy us and how that carries forward from our sales front end to perfect execution and delivery on the back end through operations – our Promise to Promise – our re imagine – our Solutions and our Ideas, Innovation and client Cost Saves.

The first MIT meeting allowed for our employees to walk away with eye-opening insights. The floor was opened to exchanging stories of success, to getting to know each other better and to finding inspiration in the powered of shared experience. Missy Adriazola, our Director of Training put it this way:
"We kicked off MIT 2 weeks ago with Mitch sharing his vision of FSO- past, present and future.  It is crucial that everyone plays their part for the future and growth of FSO.  But, with that comes learning about what we do, and how we do it.  Last week, with Round 2, Bomsi shared a little more detail about the company history and the expectations ahead.  And, since we’ve all learned “what” we do, who FSO is and Mitch’s vision, it’s time to get to work on the “how to” portion of training.

As head of training at FSO, I could not be more excited to share that there are great things in the works for the next round of MIT.  The promise to practice from the training team is that we ensure that you all have the tools you need to perform at your best and teach your teams to do so each and every day.  We are ONE team made up of individuals who CARE about each other and our clients. This is a huge differentiator in the marketplace and how FSO sells and closes deals daily.  We hire those who have the DNA of fire, skip and twinkle.  We look for those who are hospitality driven and go above and beyond every day."
As we continue to build our company culture together, which you know includes positive energy, honesty, trust, respect, integrity/ethics, warmth, transparency, and CARE. You will only be able to achieve success in your role through solid communication - but talk is cheap. The question is: do your words matter and influence the outcome? Do you really connect with your team? Can we be doing better?
  • How the operation could run better, more efficient?
  • Are there better ways we can be organizing our areas better?
  • Are there ways we can order things like supplies and equipment to save our clients’ money?
  • Can we be more productive in the way we maintain the cleanliness of all areas?
  • Service with a Smile means just that and how are we ensuring every contact with an end user or guest is perfect and special?
  • What ways can we improve Hospitality?

There is nothing to wait for or direction needed from our clients in finding ways to (re) Imagine and make things better – your ideas and expertise is exactly why we are entrusted to run our clients operations – they outsourced to us and we must take the opportunity to show them why their decision was the best they ever made and we will deliver on our Promise to Practice.

You will know you've connected with your team when: they go the extra mile and always give the extra effort, they say positive things and provide unsolicited appreciation, they demonstrate trust and have an unguarded openness, they express themselves and communicate frequently, they feel good about their role and their value to FSO, they have positive energy, and you have growing team synergy.

Our company is all about PERSONAL. Love our employees and love our clients.. and we should never stop thinking of how to wow them. The Power of Focus and the Power of Positive Energy will always be key to our future success.

MIT presents us with an opportunity to take time and (re) IMAGINE the services we provide to our clients, and the road we pave for our employees —with the idea that we are one team, one family.

Thank you for your partnership and continued support. We look forward to sharing our success as the MIT program moves forth and grows.

Have a great week and thanks for being a part of our amazing journey.

InspireME Friday: Joe Ades, Million-Dollar Plus Earning Street Salesman in New York City Shows You Secret of Sevilla Chips & TIGHT Sales Skill

"Buy one of my gifts for $10 and they're not got going to be offended because you only gave them a peeler, they'll be delighted that you gave them the best peeler in the world, made ins Switzerland where a damn knife costs $100, but even if they want ed one, you won't find out peelers in any stores. No one else has anything like this. Only me. Take two now and I will trow in the second peeler for the single convenient $10 price. They're made of stainless steel they CANNOT RUST"

Good Morning Folks,

To end  another strong and exciting week at FSO, and in salute toil own sales superstars who give it their best each and every day (Bari Klein, David Furst, Jill Kort, Ron Kelly, Juan Santa, Taylor  Miller and Gill Shapira), I present one of the best salesman in New York City...probably the best, in the world period. Over a million folks have watched this video on Youtube, countless more on the street. And there's tons one can learn. You can get the peeler here http://astore.amazon.com/konyh-20

So he makes around $21,000 a week...
52 weeks in a year: $1,092,000
he made $70 in 6 mins -
that averages to $700 an hour

If you want a new peeler, or want become a better salesman, then take a look at this guy
Whatever you do, be passionate.

HERE ARE SOME COMMENTS FROM VIEWERS

"I bought mine from him in 2002 and 12 years later it's as sharp as the day I bought it.

"I'm Swiss and ours is surely 20 years old. great pieces"

"Peel a carrot - Like a boss!
Cut potato - like a boss
Sell a peeler - like a boss!
Earn some money - Like a  boss!"

"He makes me wanna buy a peeler."

"I don't have a need for a peeler at the moment, but I am still throwing money at the screen."

I'd definitely buy a couple!

Take my money
I'm sure calling this the best peeler in the world is an exaggeration, but with a sales pitch like that how can you refuse this man?  Not to mention, I'd rather give my money to someone working hard like this than another big box store.his from any dollar store, but I'd go out of my way to buy one from him given the chance.

He's a millionaire now

im pretty sure there are better peelers out there.....but i want his!

He's not just selling the product, he's selling an experience, a promise and his personality.

I would buy this just for his sheer performance!

This guy became a millionaire and lived on Park Avenue because of his peeler hustling skills.
Search for 'peeler millionaire' on Youtube.

This guy is such a good salesman he managed to sell me one from the grave and across the pond to where I live in London, I'm getting one from amazon!

I would buy this product. Smart person and great demonstration

The wolf of wall street asked this guy to sell him a pen. The wolf ended up buying 5 peelers.

You can buy these things in Europe, but i would still buy one just because of how awesome the skills of his sales techniques are.

What a great guy!  I would buy anything he sold, just because he's awesome.

Everybody in Europe has this peeler, not kidding.

Well, you completely missed the point of the video being about him being a salesman and not the peeler being amazing.

Great salesman, lots to learn from!

Five and a half years later and we experience this beautiful moment in the benign milieu of human interaction. Bless him and his enthusiasm and perspective; it isn't life and death nor is it (seemingly) make or break. Perhaps what is so appealing and inviting is that he seems already comfortable with where he is? How many times have we been dissuaded from interacting with people on the street (be them vendors or pitchmen) because we perceive them as less than us or less well-off than us in our current situations?  I'm just smitten with this man and this moment.

Well said, he was a charming and classy gentleman. He spoke to everyone on the street rich or poor. He was the street.

Great salesman!

Get this man on QVC, he'll make a killing

He's already making a killing. He's a millionaire.

The American Dream.

That is one great salesman.  Where can I buy a salesman like that?  Is he for sale?

You'd have to ante up a lot of money. Apparently, he lives on Park avenue and is a millionaire.

Excellent salesmen. I'd probably buy one but tip him an extra couple dollars for his superb selling=
To anyone who says salesmanship isn't an art, how's it feel to be proven so wrong?
this guy is awesome

wow sold 16peelers just in 5mins

An inspirational salesperson and a great device.  ]

I am totally getting one of those!ago
le reddit army has touched down!

"You only want one? You got no friends like me." Lol

Joe Ades: the potato peeling millionaire in  #nyc  -- your not from New York unless you know who Joe Ades is!

I hope he used all the example shavings. That's a lot of food!

I'd get one, and I don't even cook

Defines a salesman.  I walk up totally disinterested honestly I never even cook.  I walk away with 5 of the darn things.  Get home realize I'll never use said items exclaim, "How the hell did he do that?"

The problem is not because he's a great salesman... but the item hes selling is convincing anyway... sure this guy have great way to show the usefulness of the item... but if you got no interest in the item i don't think it's gonna sell..

Great to see this. Long time since I saw something as genuine as this, New York is just too invaded with hipsters

All I learned from this video is that this guy is really good at peeling potatoes.

He makes me want to go travel to NY just to get my hands on one of those peelers.

I too dont cook and i want one!! He really is the greatest salesmen ever! I wonder if this is what salesmen where like back in the 50s 60s thats the vibe im getting from this guy

Im never cook in my life. Im gonna need 10 of those slicer.

wow what a great salesman, I don't think I'd be able to resist buying a peeler from him lol

I just spent my time watching a guy sell peelers and I wasn't bored
Joe Ades , Greatest Salesman in New York City His…: http://youtu.be/HCUct4NlxE0

I remember this guy. I used to watch him just talk and talk and people would buy and buy.

love this vid. awesome, human. there's something... magical... about someone who is good at what they do. & who enjoys it. / even veggie-peeling becomes a delight.

I had never heard of this gent, but last spring I was serving jury duty in Brooklyn and saw him across the street from the courthouse.  I *had* to buy from him -- his bit hearkens to another time and age.  I can't use the peeler without thinking of him, and regretting I didn't buy some as gifts if only to but from him and reward him for the memory he's given me, and apparently many others.

when i found out he died i genuinely cried. me and my friend loved this guy so much we always impersonated him and had laughs. we miss him so much. he had his routine down to a word. my fav line is "they're made of stainless steel they CANNOT RUST"

wow he makes so much money in just 5 minutes.

Forbes wrote… "For any investor assessing innovation, creative destruction and disruptive technologies it’s a must to find the outliers. The standouts are not the technologies themselves but the zealous missionary people who conjure up the big new ideas and champion them to everyone else."

At FSO, our ability to (re)IMAGINE a future very different than exists today and surround ourselves with passionate, open minded people who always have our client's future success at heart, make FSO the Apple of its industry. The disruptor. The innovator. The better alternative.

Less than 48 months ago, hundreds of FSO clients ALL relied on someone else who let them down. Now they have made the switch to us. That's no match forJoe's enthusiasm and peeler sales, but today we are just getting started and Joe, you lit our pants on fire with new found optimism and passion for what we do every day  Thanks.

Thanks to our employees for all you do for us, and to our clients for awarding us the privilege of serving you.

Have a GREAT day!

"Friendly, precise, swift in their care that we get packages, and clearly committed to making sure we have our work materials right away, as soon as humanly possible knowing print deadlines are lurking. They are so professional and so eager and friendly and personable." ~~New York Times

Good Morning Folks,

The weather in New York has been fabulous. I hope all of you have had the chance to enjoy the Spring weekends with family and friends. The FSO Nation has been going full steam ahead, delivering the world class experience that has made us famous from coast to coast.

Before we get to the awards, I'd like to point out a passage from my fellow workforce happiness leader, Simon Sinek's. new book (Leaders Eat Last) where Simon (who has been featured right here on MitchWeiner.com's Ted Tuesday), talks about employees and happiness at work. He contends that only a minority of employees feel fulfilled and truly happy at work… and it is of our own doing.

Sinek reckons employees are not happy because we have built systems and constructed organizations that force the human animal to work in environments in which it does not work best…. and one which encourages us to look after ourselves first and be suspicious of others.

The takeaway was confirmation that trust plays such an important part in creating the right environment for employees … and acts as the lubrication that reduces friction and creates conditions much more conducive to high performance.

At FSO we create the "trust" environment that brings out the best in all of our employees and results in client salutes like these. Whether greeting visitors to the the busiest and most famous building in the world or providing IT support directly to the CEO transitioning sensitive email accounts or the supporting the world's biggest newspaper brand who depends on us to get stories out to you, as these customers will confirm, you can count on FSO

Following are the names of our team members who have been caught delivering the WOW! to our clients and have made it to SHOUT OUT Wednesday on MitchWeiner.com!

"FSO is doing very well in the building at One Liberty Plaza. We have had no issues or concerns and it was a very smooth transition. We have only gotten positive feedback from tenants and thought we would share with you. Please have your team keep up the good work at One Liberty Plaza."

Christina, IMG
"This is to let you know that it is a pleasure to have Christina fill in for Kim. Christina is very polite, quick to respond to our needs and very conscientious. She has a wonderful happy attitude about doing her job, unfortunately something a bit too rare these days. I think she likes working with us too."

"I work in finance at 45th Street in NYC and for what it’s worth, there’s many people here who have an incredibly high opinion of Christina currently working reception. She’s incredibly pleasant, punctual and has an incredible work ethic. Though we’re not belittling Kim at all, many have hoped that Christina would stay until possible Kim returns and though I’m sure that’s not in your plans, I figured I’d pass on the word."

Evelyn, Medimmune

"I had an emergency request to produce oversize copies of posters and she managed to complete my request in less than 15 minutes. She was very friendly, polite and very understanding of my short notice request. Please pass along my appreciation."

Stephanie, Medimmune
"This is the third email in this vein I have seen from Stephanie today and I just wanted to express my appreciation (which I will convey to her directly but I hope you can do the same on my behalf from your side of the house as well). Very glad to have her on board and super excited that she is doing everything we had hoped for, even after only a few days. Look forward to having this continue while we build a fabulous team!"

Sepideh, Medimmune
"Sharing news…. A little bit of bragging! Not knowing what a MedImmune SPOT AWARD was, I received one, today, from Mr. Richard Louis Remmele in appreciation for the work I did for him, a scientist at MedImmune whom I helped with an infographics/slide project which will be used in a conference in Boston this April. MedImmune is an awesome place to work at. Thanks for having me here."

James, Sarah & Tareek, NY Times
"We have had the pleasure of the the care and professionalism of your staff members, James, Sarah and Tareek for a while now. About a month ago, I reached out to Janet, cc'd above,to tell her how particularly fine each of these members of your team are. Friendly, precise, swift in their care that we get packages, and clearly committed to making sure we have our work materials right away. They are so professional and so eager and friendly and personable. They are so purposeful in their deliveries to us, which often come throughout the day. They make sure that we have what has come in for us as soon as humanly possible. We rely heavily upon timely delivery of packages because those are all deadline materials needed by us on a fairly quick turn-around, sometimes the same day, for our various closing deadlines for The Book Review and TimesDigest and for our reporting booksellers. I have meant to write to you this way for this entire month. During these weeks since I first communicated with Janet, our high regard and admiration and utmost appreciation for these three individuals has only grown. They each in individual ways, and as a team, that represents your organization, contribute so much to the quality of our work and to the atmosphere of collegiality and mutual high regard and standards here. And we want you to know that."

Talmas, Capco
"Over the last three weeks, Talmas Innocent has helped the Office of the CEO with the migration from Google to Outlook.  For this period of time Talmas worked diligently to make sure our issues were resolved.  He made himself available early in the morning, late in the evening, and on weekends, to enable our office to be fully operational.  Talmas has done a great job for us! Please consider this e-mail as a commendation for a job well done."

As you know, our culture is ALL about RECOGNITION. I always stress the importance of catching someone on your team doing something good and recognizing him/her.

Thank you all for your care and commitment ensuring our standards are set. Will we get to see YOUR name in next Wednesday's column??

Be inspired. Remember the power of focus and positive energy. It's FSO that makes a difference and you lead the charge.

Have a fabulous day filled with love and inspiration.

Hugs all around,

Mitchell D. Weiner
